Nike - Electric Pack
The Nike Electric Pack is a bold new colorway, combining the iconic Ostrich print with Nike’s vibrant Total Orange, launching across 55 performance shoe models for men, women, and kids. This striking design brings together sport and culture, with roots in Nike’s innovative history, as it nods to the 1987 Ostrich print inspired by designer Tinker Hatfield.
The Electric Pack launched on July 24, 2024, and includes a wide range of footwear: from running shoes like the Vaporfly 3 and Alphafly 3, expected to be showcased by Nike athletes in the Paris 2024 Olympics, to everyday trainers like the Pegasus 41, and basketball, soccer, and golf shoes.
Monks collaborated with Nike Global to create an homepage overlay and an in-app microsite for Nike.com and the Nike App. These experiences highlighted the Electric Pack collection and showcased the technologies behind the designs, allowing users to explore the product range.
Using the same technical foundation as the “Winning Isn’t for Everyone” and "Win On Air" projects, the platform was built with a NextJS framework for a statically generated frontend, DatoCMS for content management, and Nike’s Akamai CDN for fast, scalable delivery. The serverless infrastructure, combined with AWS S3 for static storage, ensured peak traffic readiness and a seamless global launch.
As the Global Technical Director, I worked closely with Nike Global’s technology, product, and marketing teams to oversee implementation, optimize infrastructure, and ensure a world-class user experience. The campaign received significant praise from Nike’s senior leadership and achieved high visibility during its launch.
