Monks has a long-standing partnership with GSD&M and the U.S. Air Force, designing, building, and maintaining the airforce.com marketing and recruitment website. Built on Adobe’s latest technologies, the platform leverages Adobe Experience Manager, Adobe Target, Adobe Analytics, and Dynamic Media to deliver a seamless user experience and support interactive campaign features, such as the Special Warfare game experience.
In the spring of 2024, I joined the project as Technical Director, providing strategic oversight and consulting. My role focused on maximizing the value of Adobe licenses, identifying cost efficiencies, and improving platform performance. Key contributions included guiding the team to implement Dynamic Media for faster website speed, optimizing mobile load performance (crucial for over 80% of traffic), reducing technical debt, and enabling personalization by integrating Adobe Target. I also led efforts to streamline content management by cleaning up unused components, ensuring a more efficient and scalable platform.
Beyond technical guidance, I mentored both the development team and project and client management teams, helping them navigate technical complexities and refine processes. Acting as the internal executive sponsor and technical escalation point, I provided support for larger strategic topics, including securing a 12-month, multi-million-dollar contract extension for 2025. My contributions ensured the delivery of a flexible, high-performing platform aligned with the client’s goals.
