Monks partnered with Jacobs to redesign and rebuild jacobs.com, delivering a powerful, flexible, and user-friendly platform tailored to their needs. The new site features a Drupal open-source CMS with a component-driven architecture, enabling seamless management of Jacobs’ vast content catalog. For sensitive information, integration with Jacobs' SSO authentication allows external partners and vendors secure access, simplifying information sharing.

The platform's search functionality, powered by Coveo's AI-driven relevance engine, uses machine learning to personalize results based on user behavior, increasing engagement and content consumption. The frontend, built with TypeScript and the Handlebars templating system, integrates smoothly with Drupal to ensure a dynamic and responsive user experience.

In my role as Technical Director, I oversaw the project from start to finish, leading technical discovery, requirement gathering, and client alignment. I guided the development team, participated in architecture decisions, reviewed code quality, and ensured best practices were followed. Occasionally, I contributed hands-on to smaller features, bug fixes, and troubleshooting efforts. I collaborated closely with Jacobs’ stakeholders across technology, marketing, and project management, providing technical guidance and consulting. Additionally, I supported internal teams, including project management, creative, and account teams, to ensure successful delivery.
