In 2023, BJ’s Restaurants partnered with Monks to align their Adobe Experience Platform and MarTech stack with best practices, improving ROI and performance. Our team conducted a comprehensive audit covering Adobe Experience Platform, UX strategy, UI design, analytics, technical SEO, and customer data platform (CDP) strategy, enabling BJ’s to maximize their platform capabilities.

As Technical Director, I collaborated closely with BJ’s marketing and technology teams as well as mutliple groups within Monks, to provide technical consultancy and strategic recommendations. Key highlights include:

  • Increased conversion rates and reduced bounce rates by providing strategic recommendations to improve load performance, especially for mobile users (over 80% of total traffic).
  • Unlocked reliable analytics data and actionable insights for BJ’s senior marketing team by overhauling the event tracking strategy in Adobe Analytics.
  • Connected BJ’s online and offline data in Adobe CDP from 10+ source systems, including in-restaurant POS data and website analytics, with a strong focus on their loyalty program.
  • Enabled website personalization by guiding the implementation strategy of Adobe Target, leveraging data from Adobe CDP and Adobe Analytics to target users effectively.

This collaborative effort led to measurable improvements in performance, data accuracy, and personalization capabilities, supporting BJ’s in delivering an optimized customer experience.
